Women's Basketball Weekly Honors (Press Release)

ATLANTA (February 7, 2017)—Kentucky State University swept the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) women’s basketball weekly honors with Brittani Rizzi being named Women’s Newcomer of the Week, announced on Feb. 7 by the conference office.
Rizzi averaged 15 points and 1.5 rebounds per game last week for the Lady Thorobreds (9-12 overall, 5-7 SIAC). The 5’8 junior guard from Bedford, Indiana led all players in scoring (18) and 3-pointers (5-11) in a 61-58 win at home over Lane College (Jan. 30). In a game against LeMoyne Owens College, Rizzi scored 12 points and added a steal for the Lady Thorobreds. Rizzi finished the week with 30 points, three rebounds, one assist, and three steals. Kentucky State will host Central State for their next contest on Feb. 11 at 4:00 p.m.
