SIAC Announces Softball Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week (Press Release)

ATLANTA (February 16, 2017)—Katelyn Wilson (Spring Hill) was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Softball Player of the Week along with teammate Danielle Clark who was selected as the Pitcher of the Week, announced Thursday by the league office.
Wilson, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Mobile, Ala. hit .454 for the Badgers last week. After finishing last week with six straight wins, leaving the Badgers 8-4 overall, Wilson finished with four runs, five hits, two doubles, and one RBI. On Sunday, the Badgers had a go-ahead RBI in the 6th inning finishing with a 5-0 victor over Christian Brothers University where Wilson pitched a complete game in same contest with four hits, three walks, and eight strikeouts. After bringing home the win, the Badgers pick up win in relief over Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) on Saturday where Wilson finished with two walks and two strikeouts.
Clark, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Saraland, Ala. pitched a no-hitter versus arch-rival University of Mobile in Wednesday’s first game and then picked up a win in relief of second game in four more hitless innings while pitching a complete-game victory at AUM on Sunday. Clark finished the week with a 3.09 earned run average and four wins where she pitched two complete games with one shut-out and 16 strikeouts. The Badgers host Kentucky State in a double-header on Feb. 18 beginning at noon.
