SIAC Announces Softball Weekly Honors (Press Release)

ATLANTA (March 22, 2017) — Chelsea Hall (Claflin) was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Softball Player of the Week along with teammate Tiaria Norman who was selected as the Pitcher of the Week, announced Wednesday by the league office. Hall, a senior center fielder from Decatur, Ga. hit .526 for the Panthers (14-13 overall, 5-2 SIAC) who finished 4-1 last week. Hall finished the week with 10 hits, nine runs, two doubles, two triples, two home runs, and three RBI. Hall was named to the SIAC Crossover All-Tournament Team and was awarded the Fastest Base Runner of the tournament honor where she ran a 10.8.
Norman, a junior right-handed pitcher from Greenwood, S.C. faced 55 batters allowing only ten hits with four runs (two earned) and 23 strikeouts leading her to two wins along with a save in three appearances last week. At the plate, she recorded two runs and two hits, including a double. The Panthers will host Stillman College in a double-header on March 22 starting at 4 pm.
